Ra\u00fal Aguayo-Krauthausen is an author, communications graduate, design thinker and inclusion activist.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Aguayo-Krauthausen is known for the significant commitment he has demonstrated to people with disabilities. <\/span>An<\/span> example is his launching of “Wheelmap.org”, an online map for finding and marking wheelchair-accessible places. <\/span>T<\/span>he 2004 campaign “Die Suche nach dem SuperZivi” (approx. Eng.: The Search for the Super-C<\/span>ivilian<\/span>)<\/span>\u2014<\/span>a meaningful <\/span>response<\/span> to the casting show format of <\/span>DSDS<\/span><\/i> (abbr. for <\/span>Deutschland sucht den Superstar<\/span><\/i>, approx. Eng.: Germany\u2019s Superstar Search)\u2014gave the starting signal for the founding of the association “Sozialhelden” (<\/span>renamed<\/span> “Sozialheld*innen” in 2019; approx. Eng.: Public-<\/span>Spirited<\/span> Hero[in]es). What started as a small idea is now a large network of volunteers who <\/span>through<\/span> various actions campaign for <\/span>diverse<\/span> topics <\/span>relating to<\/span> social justice.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2014, the Berliner published his biography <\/span>Dachdecker wollte ich eh nicht werden<\/span><\/i> (I Never Wanted to Be a Roofer, Anyway) and a year later, he be<\/span>gan<\/span> hosting his own talk show. His charitable work and progressive ideas have <\/span>been honoured with<\/span> several awards. He received the Grimme Online Award, the Silvio Meier Prize and in 2013 the <\/span>Bundesverdienstkreuz<\/span><\/i> am Bande <\/span><\/i>(Federal Cross of Merit). Today, he hosts several podcast formats, such as<\/span> Im Aufzug<\/span><\/i> (Eng.: In the Lift) and <\/span>Wie kann ich was bewegen?<\/span><\/i> (approx. Eng.: How Can I Make a Difference?) and writes a column for MDR (broadcaster <\/span>Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk<\/span><\/i>).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
